Director, Plant Operations
DEPARTMENT: Operations
OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Director of Operations is accountable for the overall performance of the Operations team in an FDA-regulated cGMP facility. The site Operations include Manufacturing, Blow molding, and Packaging for over-the-counter personal healthcare products. This position will be responsible for directing and enabling the teams to execute the operations strategy to meet the business and customer needs. This includes leveraging knowledge of industry’s best practices, systems modeling, financial analysis and collaborating cross-functionally (e.g., Maintenance and Engineering, Procurement, and Quality) to solve problems and create opportunities to improve site and business performance profitability.
ACCOUNTABILITEIS:
•Development of performance goals and long-term operational plans
•Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis, interdepartmental collaboration Lean Six Sigma practices
•Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity
•Analyze current operational processes and performance, implement solutions for improvement
•Accountable for the direction of the processing, packaging and blow molding Operations.
•Accountable for all Production activities to meet customer demands and department objectives (quality, cost, service, safety)
•Accountable for all Operational aspects under the scrutiny of the FDA and other regulatory agencies
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Translate the supply demand to a long-term production plan in cooperation with Supply Chain
•Managing short- and long-term labor and equipment capacity plans
•Lead a culture of Operational excellence to increase productivity and efficiency and to meet or exceed all quality standards
•Develop, implement and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles around key initiatives
•Plan, monitor and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely production goals.
•Develop, direct and monitor procedures for producing quality blow molded plastics, bulk manufactured product and finish goods in a safe environment to support the production schedule.
•Ensure a safe work environment
•Participate in establishing and monitoring standards for quality, compliance, safety and productivity.
•Develop and manage annual and quarterly operational budgets.
•Manage the workforce in a motivating manner assuring that communication is effective and open.
•Perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•BA/BS degree in Operation, Engineering, Scientific or equivalent degree
•Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience including five (5) years of managerial experience in a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging environment.
•Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
