Jr Facility Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift

DEPARTMENT: Facility Maintenance


OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
This position provides an opportunity for an entry level employee to learn the various responsibilities, tasks and duties within the Facility Maintenance Department geared primary in the fields of HVAC, Industrial Electricity, and cGMP and non-cGMP building maintenance/repairs. The selected candidate will be required to maintain areas of facility including plumbing, lighting, electrical utilities/branch circuits and non-structural cosmetics. The employee will have the opportunity to assist and train under the supervision of senior technicians on critical facilities systems such as air compressors/dryers, boiler/condensate systems, chilled/heating water generation and delivery, 3 phase electrical utilities and R/O purified water systems. The employee will be required to gain knowledge and understanding of cGMP compliance and adhere to governing SOP’s and Work Instructions to maintain GMP compliancy.

ACCOUNTABILITEIS:
• Learning from assigned Maintenance personnel all aspects of their respective responsibilities within the department.
•Applying knowledge learned and performing assigned tasks.
•Acquiring basic mechanical skills, learning to interpret technical manuals, & ultimately learn to perform required maintenance and service on complex systems and equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Maintenance - learn how to perform proactive and preventative maintenance work orders on facility and production equipment
•Maintenance - perform line tending duties to ensure peak performance of production equipment

Optional Responsibilities:
•Stockroom - learn to maintain stockroom inventory by using CMMS system for ordering, receiving, inventory cycle-counts, and helping mechanics locate parts
•Stockroom - maintain a clean work environment and organize various satellite locations of inventory
•CMMS Administration - learn the different aspects of eMaint CMMS software including but not limited to maintaining the dashboard, monitoring work orders for accuracy and checking PMs to ensure schedules are kept up to date
•Engineering - learn how to read schematics and basic PLC logic
•Engineering - learn machine operating voltages, components and wiring.
•Planning - learn how to process a work order request and maintenance scheduling
•Planning - learn scheduling review and how to process backlog and aging work orders
•Maintenance - perform Shop work orders which include but not limited to milling and lathe machining tasks
•Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Preferably enrolled in a qualifying program, trade school or college
•Basic knowledge/understanding of plumbing, HVAC, Electrical utilities, and/or building construction
•Excellent problem solving/trouble shooting skills in order to observe, diagnose, and fix machinery malfunctions.
